Lot of Info Here:

In order:

- The temples of each island are very particular to the given setting and environment and have a certain set structure that fits with their native space. They are, like the High Temple, sacred spaces in a way that would not inherently benefit angels or harm demons, ect. They are safe spots that hold meaning to the Ancient and the people who interact with Her.

The High Temple exists in a liminal space where reality is a bit softer. This is part of why it can be available at any and all of the islands also is a side effect of nearness to the Ancient. The color and patterning would lean to darker toned materials and gem tone colors, but the exact architecture or even layout would vary constantly and reflect a wide variety of cultures. Anyone who spends time exploring the High Temple at this point would get the sense that A) there are significant portions of the Temple that is not yet available to this group of Travelers yet, B) the halls are functionally endless, and C) it's almost impossible to get lost when you head out with a specific allowed location in mind.

The Main Temple likely feels substantially safer than Carcosa's temple because of the nature of Carcosa, but functionally there is little difference.

-The Main Temple Guardians are shadow creatures that tend to lurk in a way that is both menacing and potentially helpful. Think of when a strict but fair teacher walks through a classroom. If asked, they will help Travelers find their way to specific locations in the Temple or make sure that Travelers have access to necessary accommodations like medication, mobility aids, or private bathrooms while remaining nonverbal. They will react aggressively if someone attempts to damage the Temple or another Traveler while within the grounds. If you are seeking to play out an actual interaction where the Guardians speak/give information about the world, feel free to reach out to the Mod squad.

-It is currently unclear to Travelers if it's possible to directly contact the Ancient. They are welcome to try the ScryWatch, praying, or speaking to the guardians/NPCs, but give a nudge to the Mods if you want an actual response.

-We are currently giving players some leeway on the connection between the watch colors and their redemption goals. The mods had originally intended for it to be clear from the jump, but as one is a teacher, are more than aware people don't always listen to instructions the first time through. There will be a ScryWatch info update for both ic/ooc purposes soon.

-The Ferryman leaves as soon as he's sure all the Travelers have disembarked. There are many islands and many other groups of Travelers that need to be shuggled around.
