Greetings, prospective Travelers! Polymythos' applications are currently closed!
Applications will not be accepted on a first come, first serve basis; being fast to post an app is not the same thing as being someone who makes a game worth coming back to day after day. We understand this might not be how every game does it, but it's how we will.
PLAYER INFO
Name: Your preferred handle and pronouns.
Age: All players must be 18+.
Contact: Your preferred journal, Plurk, Discord, etc.
Current Characters: If applying for a second or third character, please list your current characters here.
CHARACTER INFO
Name: Your character's name and/or preferred name.
Journal: The username of the account you'll be playing from.
Age: Approximate, physical, etc.
Appearance: A brief physical description and/or link to a photo of your character.
Canon: The series your character is from or "Original Character."
Canon Point: The point of time from which your character is from, N/A if apping an original character.
History: Wiki links are preferred. For original characters, AUs, CRAUs, and those with limited wiki entries, please provide a brief written history for your character detailing important events that shaped your character and/or how their experiences changed them -- this doesn't have to be an essay! Bullet points are fine.
Abilities: Please make note of any abilities your characters may have, including superpowers, magic, and/or any other noteworthy abilities. (E.g., Superman is an alien from Krypton who derives his abilities from Earth's yellow sun, whereas Batman does not have any superpowers but has mastered many skills and fighting styles.)
Questionnaire:
1. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed?
2. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take: best, worst, most likely?
3. How do they behave within a group? What role(s) do they take? Does this differ if they know and trust the group, versus finding themselves in a group of strangers? Why?
4. What do they need and want out of relationships, and how do they go about getting it?
5. How do they understand the world–what kind of worldview and thought processes do they have? Why?
6. How much do they rely on their minds and intellect, versus other approaches like relying on instinct, intuition, faith and spirituality, or emotions?
7. What is something others might find intolerable about them?
Samples: Please provide three (3) samples that best showcase your character in action; ideal samples should include a first-person voice thread (e.g., texting) and a third-person action or prose thread, may be taken from any public page (the game's test drive meme, other games, memes), and should be no older than a year old.
Why are you interested in this game? This doesn't have to be long or overwrought. We would just like to know what about the game appeals to you, as a player, and why your character makes a suitable addition!
Each application must be submitted as an individual comment (one per character) with the character name, and canon listed in the SUBJECT line. While there is no minimum or word count requirement, all applications must be submitted as one comment and may not exceed the maximum character length of 16000.
